The $99 million improvement of this 107-year-old structure stayed real to its initial “collegiate Gothic” style and represents the first wave of a $300 million NJIT building campaign that is offering a vital support for community redevelopment in a historical area of Newark. The designer was Marvel Architects, of New York; the building contractor was Turner Construction Co., of Somerset; and financing came from the NJ Economic Development Authority and NJIT.
