CLIP DESCRIPTION:
When Ferris (Raymond D Turner) run into Ricky (Morris Chestnut), Doughboy (Ice Cube) sticks up for him till shots are terminated.

MOVIE DESCRIPTION:
Director John Singleton’s debut narrates the trials as well as adversities of three young African-American men maturing in South Central Los Angeles. When young Tre (Cuba Gooding Jr.), an intense underachiever, begins to reveal indicators of difficulty, his struggling professional mom (Angela Basset) sends him to live with his dad (Lawrence Fishburne), a hard-nosed, no-nonsense disciplinarian. There he befriends Ricky (Morris Chestnut), a growing football star, and Doughboy (Ice Cube, in a standout efficiency), a potential gang banger. For many years, each selects his own path: Tre appears bound for college; Ricky is a blue-chip running back with his choice of institutions; Doughboy is a dope dealership and authentic mobster who wanders in as well as out of the area juvenile facility. All is well up until, without caution, a competing gang goes after down Tre as well as Ricky with awful results. Doughboy immediately gets ready for retribution, compeling Tre to decide whether to jeopardize his future and also, possibly, his life for the price of vengeance and also self-regard. Sometimes fascinating, Boyz ‘N the Hood is not without its troubles. The movie tries to cram each and every single issue encountering the black area right into an hour and also a half of screen time, making the movie seem sometimes forced. The symbolism seems forced also, and the movie is frequently unbearably heavy-handed. Also, the characterization usually depends on cardboard cut-outs; every white character in the movie is a one-dimensional bigot, as well as the black law enforcement agent with whom Tre and also his papa bargain is also worse than his Caucasian equivalents. Still, the unevenness of the movie is redeemed by some minutes of true luster.
